At UC, we welcome people from diverse educational and experiential backgrounds. We look for people who have a strong curious bent of mind, possess impressive academic credentials, are intellectually sharp, have the ability to work with teams, tremendous mental and physical stamina and demonstrate interests in other areas like sport, music, art, social services etc.
Apart from stringent academic requirements, we look for intelligence in diverse areas like sports, music, art and other interests. The ambidexterity of left and right-brained thinking provides a potentially winning combination of minds that can deliver results, as well as keep peers engaged.
We are extremely selective in our hiring process and specifically look for compatibility with shared values. Only 1 out of every 90 candidate makes it as a Universal Consultant.
Each candidate goes through a combination of case study sessions and in-depth interviews as a part of our candidate selection process. Case study is typically related to a real-life business situation and has a few questions that a candidate is expected to answer.
The case study is an integral part of the entire selection process as these cases are very similar to the work we do in assisting clients with making strategic choices and resolving strategic issues. Remember that there are no ‘right answers’; we would be evaluating you on your analytical ability, structured thinking, problem solving skills and the compelling logic with which you present your thoughts.
In addition to the case study, there would be an in-depth interview in which the interviewers would try to determine your strengths, skills, career goals, experience, talent and interest areas. The process varies, but generally there would be one or two rounds of interviews.
