UC Annual Awards (Inspirare)
Every year we recognize out standing contribution in the following categories:
Christopher Columbus Award for Best Engagement Management - The best engagement management award is named after Christopher Columbus who sailed against the tide of belief, braved the fearsome Atlantic Ocean, and discovered the New World in 1492. His deep conviction and enormous courage, amidst great skepticism, is an inspiration to all UC Team Members who face an ocean of uncertainty, every day of their lives.
William Shakespeare Award for Best Client Management - The best Client management award is named after William Shakespeare who is acknowledged as the world’s greatest writer and dramatist he is the most quoted writer in the history of the English-speaking world. He said - “All the world’s a stage…And one man in his time plays many parts…”. UC Team Members, continuously juggling many roles, are inspired by Shakespeare’s deep understanding of human emotions and interpersonal dynamics, so relevant to managing people.
Plato Award for Best Leadership Ability - The best Leadership Ability award is named after Plato who was an immensely influential Greek philosopher, a disciple of Socrates, and the teacher of Aristotle. In “The Republic” he wrote, “I am the wisest man in Athens because I know I don’t know.” UC Team Members should be inspired by his humility, to accept that they do not have all the answers.
Alexander Award for Best Engagement / Team – The best Engagement /Team award is named after Alexander who is one of history’s most successful military commanders, he conquered most of the known world by age 33, and remained undefeated by any enemy. He was a man on a divinely-inspired mission to unite the human race. Alexander's burning ambition to seek the world should inspire UC Team Members to reach out across the Firm, expand their knowledge, and rally people around our cause.
Tansen Award for Best Associate – The best Associate award is named after Tansen was one of the greatest Indian musicians of all time, instrumental in creating the distinctive style of North Indian classical music. One of the most valued musicians in the court of Mughal Emperor Akbar, he was counted as one of the “Navratnas”, or nine jewels of the court. Tansen’s musical expressions were so intense, that there are legends of him inspiring rain when he sang Raga Megh Malhar, and igniting lamps when he rendered Raga Deepak. UC Team Members should be inspired by his power to express himself and the depth of his intensity, to be able to move the world around him.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Award for Best New Consultant – The best New Consultant award is named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who was an extraordinary musician, compose and a child prodigy. UC Team members should be inspired by the young genius that Mozart was and never assume that brilliance is the preserve of the experienced.
Madame Curie Award for Best Office Staff - The best Office Staff is named after Madame Curie who was a physicist who believed that Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. UC team members should be inspired by Madame Curie's determination to understand difficult problems and not to be afraid of their seeming complexity.
Charles Darwin Award for Best Consultant - Runner Up - The Best Consultant - Runner Up is named after Charles Darwin who states "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change". UC Team Members should be inspired by Darwin’s remarkable insights on adaptation, to have a range of strategies being ideated concurrently, allowing the most robust and practical ones to ultimately win.
Leonardo da Vinci Award for Best Consultant – The Best Consultant is named after Leonardo da Vinci who was Painter, sculptor, anatomist, architect, engineer, inventor, musician, mathematician and philosopher, Leonardo da Vinci was the greatest genius to have ever walked this earth. His diversity of knowledge should inspire UC Team Members to explore a wide range of disciplines and transfer learnings from there to the straight-jacketed world of management consulting.
UC Annual CEO Cricket Game
Every year we invite our clients and their families to participate in a game of cricket played underlights. In its 8th year now this event has become widely popular with our clients.
UC Annual Employees Cricket Game
Employees play for the “Universal Shield”, a rotating trophy wherein we witness some competitive cricket played in the true spirit of the game.
As a Firm, we take these events very seriously, and we are very serious about having fun on this day irrespective of whichever side lifts the inaugural trophy. The wining side has its name inscribed on the shield alongside the relevant year.
