Jay started his Consulting career in Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, in 1989. In 1994, he founded Universal Consulting. |

Jay a Bachelor of Science, University of Bombay, graduated in Life Sciences in May 1984. |

He followed this up with an MS in Biology from Purdue University, USA, in August 1987. |

He then went on to do an MBA from Willamette University, USA, in May 1989. |

Jay also attended the two-part Executive Education program at the Harvard Business School, USA, on "Leading Professional Service Firms". |

Jay is an active student of Indian Classical Music, and has been playing the Sarod, for the last 20 years. Jay is also the first sarod player to have modified this old and very traditional Indian classical instrument, to be played like a western classical instrument, while standing up and not sitting cross-legged on the ground in the traditional pose. This new method, allows for great sonic resonance, freedom of movement and speed. He has an interest in evolutionary biology, natural history and evolutionary psychology. He lives in Mumbai with his wife Madhavi and son Arjun. |
